Everton's Cahill could return for Newcastle clash

Tim Cahill could be back in the frame for Everton when they take on Newcastle United on the weekend.

The Toffees star missed the 1-0 home loss to Manchester United on Saturday with an ankle/foot injury but is expected to return for the unenviable trip to St James' Park to take on the Magpies.

Everton have been hit with a few injuries, which manager David Moyes believes aren't too severe, and has indicated that the likes of Socceroos ace Cahill, club captain Phil Neville and centre-back Sylvain Distin could all be back in action this Saturday in a much-needed boost of experience to the match-day squad.

"We have got some injuries, I don't think they are that serious," Moyes told the club's official website.

"I think they have all got a better than even chance of being fit for next week and we need them because you can see what we are bringing off the bench.

"It's great for them, young players like (Ross) Barkley, Magaye (Gueye) and Tolis (Apostolos Vellios), it's great experience to play against a top side like Manchester United."
