Everton midfielder Ross Barkley has not demanded to become Tottenham's highest-paid player, according to Sky Sports.

It is understood Tottenham are interested in the 23 year old but are unwilling to meet Everton's valuation.

Sources close to Barkley have told Sky Sports News that, contrary to some reports, it is "untrue" to suggest he has asked for £150,000-a-week wages, more than any other Tottenham player earns.
