Everton have approached Manchester City for defender Dedryck Boyata.
The Daily Mail says the Belgium international, 20, had been mentioned as part of a possible £17m deal to take Gary Cahill from Bolton to Eastlands but he is unwilling to join Owen Coyle's side.
Boyata's father Bienvenu said: "There was talk of a swap with Cahill at Bolton, but Dedryck does not want to go there.
"Everton are showing interest in him as well, and they are very much an option for him."
