FC Porto midfielder Fernando is expected to be the subject of a second bid from Everton.

The Toffees went after the 26-year old Brazilian last summer but were unsuccessful in their pursuit as the player opted to remain in Portugal.

Manchester City have also been heavily linked with Fernando but the Daily Star is of the belief that Everton will step up their chase after losing City's Gareth Barry whose season-long loan spell has expired.
