After their record swoop for Romelu Lukaku, Everton are returning to Chelsea for Christian Atsu.

The London Evening Standard says the Merseysiders have already signed Lukaku from Chelsea for £28million this week, and used the negotiations to also step up their bid for the 22-year-old.

Atsu was signed by Chelsea from Porto for £3.5m last summer, but spent the season at Vitesse Arnhem before impressing for Ghana at the World Cup.
