Everton remain in bottom three after Fulham defeat

Everton failed to hold on to their half-time lead at Craven Cottage and stumbled to a 2-1 defeat against Fulham. A poor first half gave way to a more exciting second period when Fulham improved to come from behind and claim all three points.

Tim Cahill had given Everton a deserved lead with a header, but after the break Fulham levelled courtesy of a deflected Paul Konchesky shot.

Once the visitor's experienced defender Phil Neville went off injured Fulham took advantage and scored the winner with eleven minutes remaining.

Summer signing Damien Duff scored his first goal for the Cottagers, cutting inside to score from 18 yards.
