Everton refund fans who missed Rooney goal

Everton have refunded fans who missed out on Wayne Rooney's goal in Tanzania last week.

The Liverpool Echo reports fans were able to pay for access to a live stream of the game on the club's official website, with the Blues taking on Kenyan outfit Gor Mahia last Wednesday afternoon.

However, problems with the feed meant supporters were left staring at an error screen until deep into the first half.

It meant many fans were unable to see Rooney rifle home a spectacular goal on his first appearance for the Blues since moving back to his boyhood club from Manchester United earlier this month.

As a gesture of goodwill, those who paid to watch the game have now been refunded – either £3.99 for the one game, or £3.33 as part of the £9.99 package to watch Everton's first three games of pre-season.
