Everton to refrain from calling Yakubu back from Leicester

Everton will not recall striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni from his Leicester City loan even with Louis Saha's injury.

Toffees boss David Moyes has indicated that he will keep all of his loanees out until the end of the season, meaning Yakubu, who has scored four goals in 12 appearances for the Foxes, will not be coming back to Goodison Park until the summer.

Moyes made it clear that the Nigerian needs the game time and won't call him back despite the fact Saha is out of action.

"We have got a few players out on loan and I'm sure, come the end of the season, we'll assess it and see what the situation is," he told Sky Sports News.

"But, the one thing is, it's good that he is getting games. He needs the games. We couldn't quite get him in the team at the time.

"Louis was in good form and there were one or two others coming through. But it's good to see him playing.

"He is at a club who have got a really good chance of getting into the play-offs if they win a few games, so we will wait and see come the end of the season."
