The Mirror says Beckford is planning to walk out on Leeds this summer for Premier League Everton.
Striker Beckford announced at the weekend that he had committed his "immediate future" to the League One leaders.
And the 26-year-old, who netted a famous winner in Leeds' FA Cup triumph at Manchester United earlier this month, has now withdrawn his transfer request.
Beckford's decision was a blow to Newcastle, who had bid for him in this transfer window.
But the forward is still set to leave Elland Road when his contract expires in the summer.
And the player's representatives are believed to have already been in touch with top-flight Everton over a deal to take him to Goodison Park in July.
