Everton push Spurs to drop Lennon price

Everton are refusing to meet Tottenham's asking price for Aaron Lennon.

The Liverpool Echo says Blues boss Roberto Martinez was keen to turn Lennon's loan spell into a permanent move but Spurs' asking price of £9m is too high.

Lennon has one year left on his contract at White Hart Lane.

It is understood that Martinez would be happy to wait until the 28-year-old became a free agent.
