Everton are prepared to trump Arsenal in their contract offer for Jack Wilshere.
According to The Mirror, Everton are confident they can entice Wilshere to Goodison Park by increasing his current wages, which Arsenal are seeking to decrease.
Wilshere wants to remain at Arsenal but the contract stoush appears to have reached a stalemate.
The 26-year-old is set to become a free-agent at the end of the season and Everton are willing to hand him a deal worth more than the £90,000-a-week Arsenal have offered.
Arsenal's base wage offer has been reduced and performance incentives have filled the gap. Wilshere, notoriously prone to injuries, has been with the club since he was eight years of age.
