Everton are preparing a £10 million bid for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Moutinho.

The Mirror says Goodison Park boss David Moyes has renewed his interest in the midfielder after losing Mikel Arteta for at least six months because of a knee injury.

Moutinho, 22, who has won 19 caps for Portugal, said: "I'm happy at Sporting but I also want to progress as a player and believe I can succeed in England."
