Everton plan bumper pay-rise for Moyes to ward off Spurs

Everton are ready to offer manager David Moyes a huge pay-rise to resist interest from Tottenham.

The Mirror says Everton chairman Bill Kenwright is ready to make Moyes one of Europe's best paid managers to keep him away from Tottenham.

The Toffees are bracing themselves for an approach from Spurs about their highly-rated boss.

And Kenwright knows he will have a scrap on his hands, with Moyes said to be interested in moving to London.

Moyes is already among the best-paid bosses in the Premier League on around £3.5million a year, and can expect a significant rise as Everton try to find a way to extend his decade-long tenure.

That would put him closer to the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger as Europe's highest-paid managers, and make it harder for Spurs to prise him away - given that Redknapp was earning less.
