Everton have partnered with golf's Open Championship, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

The deal relates to the staging of this year's Championship, one of golf's four annual majors, at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport in July.

As part of the agreement, the Claret Jug will be taken to Everton's Goodison Park later this season before the 146th staging of the tournament.
