Everton have entered talks with AS Monaco over a new loan deal for striker Lacina Traore.

The Liverpool Echo says the 6ft 8inch forward is wanted again by Roberto Martinez who feels he would be a useful option ahead of a campaign with Europa League football on the horizon.

Traore, 23, is open to the prospect of a swift return to Merseyside, and his move hinges on the successful outcome of talks between the Blues board and their French counterparts.

He managed just one goal for Everton during his previous spell, before his campaign was ended prematurely by a hamstring injury.
