Everton No2 Steve Round believes Leighton Baines is showing England form this season.
Baines scored the final goal in Everton's 5-1 FA Cup rout against Scunthorpe at Glanford Park, and Round has been impressed by his recent progression.
"I've been well documented in saying that he is as good a left back as there is in the Premier League," Round told evertontv.
"Having worked with Ashley Cole, I always knew that Ashley was a really really good player and Bainesy was just a bit behind him.
"But I tell you what, the gap isn't very big at the minute," he added.
"If Bainesy really believes in himself and keeps taking the strides forward that he is doing then who knows where he can go."
