Everton No2 Graeme Jones feels Aston Villa will be difficult to break down.

Jones, along with Roberto Martinez, watched from the stands at Villa Park as Remi Garde started his rein with a hard-fought scoreless draw against Manchester City last time out.

“I think [Garde's] team selection was impressive against Manchester City," Jones said about his scouting report. “He made good decisions and the result showed that.

“They earned that [draw], especially on the back of Manchester City winning in Seville. It was a big result [for City] and everybody felt Aston Villa were going to struggle.

“Aston Villa were really competitive in the game. They were well-organised, in the short period of time from the Tottenham game on the Monday to the City game on the Sunday.

“They looked like they had some sort of style in them."
