Everton midfielder Kieran Dowell is staying on-loan with Nottingham Forest to the end of the season.
There was some speculation Everton may recall the midfielder given his sparkling form and Everton's own struggles in front of goal, but after it was decided to let the England Under-20 star continue his development in the Midlands.
Dowell said: “I suppose it was a positive thing, because it is nice to be wanted at both clubs. But it was agreed that it was the right decision for me to stay here. There is no rush.
“I am really comfortable here and hopefully I can carry on for the rest of the season.
“It is nice to get it boxed off. The plan was always for a season-long loan. But there was some talk about whether I went back or not – so it was nice to get it sorted; it is nice to be here until the end of the season.
“It was a successful first half of the season for me, I got really settled in. It was the right decision for me to stay, I think, for all the parties involved."
Meanwhile, Everton defender Jonjo Kenny feels he's improving under manager Sam Allardyce.
“The manager has been brilliant for me," he told evertonfc.com.
“I am learning new things every day with him and his coaching staff. I want to keep improving but right now we need to be winning game and that is my main focus.
“Yes, we have a had a few defeats. We got the point last time out against West Brom but we want to win. We are at home [against Leicester next Wednesday] and we need to start winning at home and get the points on the board."
