Everton are on red alert after Jacob Butterfield rejected a new contract offer at Barnsley.
The Daily Star says Butterfield, 21, is set to leave Barnsley when his contract runs out in the summer after rejecting a new deal.
Everton and Newcastle United are among clubs keen on the midfielder.
