Everton and Newcastle United are chasing Reading striker Leroy Lita.

Lita, who has spent most of the season on loan at Norwich, is out of contract in the summer and is available at a big discount.

Both Everton and Newcastle have severely limited funds and they are both attracted by the credit crunch-busting £350,000 price tag.
