Everton new boy Jelavic dismisses claims about forcing Rangers departure

Nikica Jelavic has made it clear that he did not push for a late transfer from Rangers to Everton.

The Croatian international made a £5.5million move from Ibrox to Goodison Park on deadline day but he has dismissed claims that he was not seeking a Glasgow exit.

"The last two days were difficult for me. I was struggling,” he told Sky Sports News.

"But I am glad it is finally done and I am fully focused on Everton.

"The English Premier League is the biggest in the world. For me, it is a big step forward in my career.

"I want to prove myself here and play well for the club and supporters."
