Everton must release Donovan back to LA Galaxy

Everton must release Landon Donovan back to LA Galaxy.

The Sun says Donovan will play his final game for Everton on Saturday after LA Galaxy refused to budge on the date for his return.

The Blues had asked to extend the USA skipper's stay after a hugely impressive three months at Goodison.

But the idea was quickly dismissed by Galaxy chiefs and the winger will have to pack his bags after this weekend's trip to Birmingham.

LA boss Bruce Arena confirmed: "Landon will be back on March 15."
