Everton aim to name Marco Silva their new manager this week.
The Daily Mail says it is understood talks with the 40-year-old Portuguese coach have concluded satisfactorily and previous threats from Silva's former club Watford to demand compensation are not an obstacle to the appointment.
Everton owner Farhad Moshiri has been a long-term admirer of Silva and tried to get him after Ronald Koeman was sacked in October.
On that occasion, his employers at Vicarage Road blocked the move but then dismissed him in January after claiming he'd been distracted by Everton's overtures.
Everton sacked Sam Allardyce after the final Premier League game of the season last weekend amidst protests from fans about the club's style of play.
