Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar is backing Yakubu to rediscover his scoring powers.

Pienaar says the Nigerian is capable of rediscovering his old form and has backed him to get amongst the goals sooner rather than later.

"We all know Yak is a proven goalscorer," he told evertontv. "He is slowly getting back to where he was and the more games he plays the sharper he will get. Hopefully he will get his goal soon and that will kick-start things for him."
