Everton midfielder Leon Osman remains hopeful of winning a place back in the England squad.
But he is philosophical about his chances of clawing his way back into the fold.
Osman said: "I couldn't have asked for much more. I was involved in the first goal and I scored the second, so it's pleasing when games go like that.
"I didn't know Roy Hodgson was here. I was concentrating on the match.
"Obviously, I'm English and I'm still wanting to play. If the call came I'd be delighted but I'm not going to get too carried away with things that aren't taking place on the pitch.
"I've got two caps. I wouldn't say I'd be satisfied to finish with that because you want to get as many as you can. I'm still playing in the top flight and there's a big competition coming in the summer, so if there's a chance for you to go then you try and take it."
