Everton midfielder Ross Barkley has been ruled out for three months, according to the Daily Mail.
The 23-year left Everton training earlier this week clutching his hamstring, and now it is reported that he will need to undergo surgery after scans revealed a tear in the muscle.
Barkley, who has been openly put on the market by Everton, only recently returned to training after a hernia operation.
Any deal prospective deal may be off the cards now, which has put Everton in a precarious situation given Barkley's contract runs out at the end of the season.
Tottenham, as well as Chelsea, have been linked with the Toffees youth-product, who has reportedly turned down a new contract at Goodison Park worth £100k a week.
