Everton and Manchester City have been placed on alert after Benfica's Oscar Cardozo told the club he wants to leave.

The Paraguay international enjoyed a stellar season in front of goal last term and has attracted plenty of interest which will only get stronger after his latest comments about his future in Portugal.

"I want to play for a big club from a different league, but the one to decide will be Benfica," he told RTP.

"The coach spoke to me yesterday and he told me he wants me to stay for one more year, but I do not know. That will depend on Benfica."
