Mick Rathbone, head of sports medicine at Everton, has left the Premier League club. The former full-back moved to the Merseysiders from Preston in 2002 after becoming a physiotherapist.
Rathbone, who played for Birmingham City, Blackburn Rovers, Preston and Halifax Town during his playing days, was given a glowing tribute by boss David Moyes.
The Toffees boss said on the club's official website: "I would like to personally thank Mick for the contribution he has made to Everton since his arrival in 2002.
"He has played an important role behind the scenes for the past eight seasons since joining us from Preston, and I would like to take this opportunity to wish all the very best."
