Benfica fully deserved their 2-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park in the Europa League. The Toffees have now failed to win any of their last seven matches in all competitions after Benfica eased to the win on Merseyside.

Javier Saviola and Oscar Cardozo scored as the Portuguese highlighted the gulf in class with a wonderful display of attacking football.

Sylvain Distin had a chance for Everton from six yards late in the game but was denied by keeper Julio Cesar.

But the good news for David Moyes is they remain second in their Europa League group and qualification remains in their own hands with two games left to play.
