Everton have held talks with Chelsea over a loan deal for Demba Ba.
The Daily Mail says Everton will stay in the hunt to re-sign Romelu Lukaku but have asked about taking 29-year-old Ba also.
However, they are still some distance apart from his personal terms with Ba on around £80,000 a week at Stamford Bridge.
Manager Roberto Martinez tried to sign Ba last season before he was offered a loan deal for Lukaku.
