Everton legend Southall jumps to support of Liverpool keeper Karius

Everton legend Neville Southall has offered his support to Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius after his Champions League horror show.

His errors in Saturday's 3-1 Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid might have been loved by some Toffees fans.

But Southall – who spent 17 years at Goodison and won almost 100 Wales caps – used his much-loved Twitter account to reach out to the 24-year-old.

The caring 59-year-old said: “Feel sorry for Karius but it's how you bounce back I have been there it's a dark place to be I hope he comes through it.

“Stay strong. Believe in yourself. Goalkeepers Union."
