Everton legend Neville Southall is backing Tim Howard for a long career at Goodison Park.
Howard recently broke the Welshman's record for number of goals conceded in the first 100 games at the Club.
"He must have had a better defence than I did!" Southall told evertonTV. "No, obviously it's great for him but I just want him to go on and win something.
"It's great that you get all the clean sheets but at some stage you've got to go on and win something. That would be great. Everybody is sick of history, we want to make some new history, don't we?"
Howard, 29, is in his third season at Goodison having taken the goalkeeping gloves from Nigel Martyn.
Southall believes he has the quality and temperament to enjoy an extended tenure as Everton's custodian.
"Tim has been in really good form," he declared. "I don't think the goalkeeping position is a problem for Everton. They have got a really, really good player who can go on for a long time at a really high level.
"I think him and Nigel Martyn are on a par. They don't make many mistakes and they make match-winning saves. They are good communicators and they are the heart and soul of the team.
"I think Tim looks a passionate man. There's no reason why he can't play into his late thirties."
