Everton legend Sharp can't see Lennon being up to job

Everton legend Graeme Sharp says they should give Celtic boss Neil Lennon a big swerve.

Lennon has been linked with Everton as David Moyes' successor.

"I would be very surprised if Neil got anywhere near Everton," said Sharp. "He has done OK at Celtic, but I'm not sure he has done enough to warrant the Everton job.

"Massive though Celtic are, this is a very difficult job in following Davie Moyes.

"Everyone knows what has happened at Rangers. People down here just expect Celtic to win the Scottish Premier League.

"That might make people a little bit derogatory about Neil's abilities as a manager. I think a lot of people are thinking: 'Rangers have been demoted, of course Celtic will win the league'.

"It's not necessarily the case that they are right. Some teams this year have done quite well, Stuart McCall's Motherwell for example. But there is the perception down here that the SPL is a one-team league."
