Everton legend Joe Royle expects David Moyes not to be tempted away by Tottenham.

Royle believes that the very special pull of Goodison Park will keep David Moyes out of Tottenham's clutches.

He told the Liverpool Echo: "Like Alan Ball said 'Once Everton has touched you nothing is the same,' and I think David Moyes is finding that out.

"I wouldn't be surprised if he stays. He's had 10 terrific years and stabilised the club.

"There was a spell last season when people were asking questions, but I think the majority of Evertonians would say he's done a terrific job and want him to stay."

Royle added: "At Everton, David and Bill Kenwright have an outstanding relationship. They meet regularly to discuss the club and they're close friends.

"David has done a terrific job. He joined when the club was in turmoil and since then it's been largely steady progress on a limited budget. His best buys have been the ones he's brought in cheaply; the likes of Cahill and Jagielka have been fantastic.

"To say he's spent ten years at a leading Premier League club tells you everything about the job he's done.

"If Spurs come calling he has a decision to make, but would I take it? The answer is no."
