Everton legend Peter Reid is delighted with Seamus Coleman's new deal.
Tim Howard, Leighton Baines and Sylvain Distin have also agreed new contracts with the Blues in 2014.
"When you are keeping your best players at a football club, it all bodes well for the future," Reid told evertonfc.com. "Certainly Seamus Coleman is one of the best right-backs in Britain, if not the world. He is one of the most improved players I have seen and one I enjoy watching.
"Everton are a stabilised club with good people there. Roberto had a great first season and some of the stuff the team was playing was a joy to watch. I went to a few away games - at the Emirates and Old Trafford - and Everton were very positive.
"I think both signings are important for the football club going forward."
