Everton legend Peter Reid was delighted to see Leon Osman make his debut for England this week.
Reid wrote in a column for evertonfc.com: "Like plenty of Evertonians I was a very interested to see how Leon Osman got on for England this week.
"I thought he did well. I didn't think he looked nervous, I thought he linked up well with Steven Gerrard and Tom Cleverley in midfield and passed the ball around well. He used his experience to come up with some interceptions and he showed a lot of energy. I don't think he did his case any harm.
"I know he's 31 and England are, perhaps, looking for younger players to come through but I do think Leon has given Roy Hodgson a headache because his overall play was very good. Around the box he was bright. He has certainly given the England boss something to think about, which is one of your priorities when you make your debut."
