Former Aston Villa and Everton striker Andy Gray is convinced Fernando Torres will come good for Chelsea.

Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas declared yesterday that Torres was not for sale.

Gray believes Torres is the complete striker and told the Daily Express: "He would epitomise what the modern-day striker needs.

"If you look at him at Liverpool, with the pace, movement, control , the ability to go at players and beat them with pace and the ability to hit the ball when he needed to. He encapsulates everything you would want from your modern player.

"But I cannot believe that the talent he has shown over the last 10 years has gone.

"Chelsea play a very different way to what he was used to at Liverpool. It was a different pace and maybe, when he had Xabi Alonso and Steven Gerrard in tandem , he was getting the service on a regular basis ."
