Everton legend Duncan Ferguson says Ross Barkley is ready to start for England.
England must beat Uruguay tomorrow to stand a chance of World Cup progress.
Ferguson told evertonfc.com: "He had a great season and he adapted really well. Everyone knows what a talent he can be. He's a great player and he's put a lot of hard work in. The experience will help him. I've been very impressed with him.
"He has other players from the club with him in the squad and that will help him. It does help to have a familiar face or two, especially as Ross is a quiet lad.
"You need a couple of lads to help show you the ropes and where and when to go to meals and things. It's great for Everton that the club has so many players in the England squad."
