Tim Cahill was full of praise for Everton's two-goal Yakubu Aiyegbeni after yesterday's 3-1 victory over Portsmouth.

Cahill, who also struck on the day, told evertonfc.com: "The Yak works hard for us and if you find him he scores.

"He brings a balance to the team. Give him the ball anywhere around the 18 yard box and he holds it, which we have lacked in the last few years. He is on fire."

Everton boss Dave Moyes added: "Harry (Redknapp) will know more than anyone that he scores goals wherever he plays. But he is doing more than what he has done for his other clubs here because he is a great footballer as well. He is loved here, he is wanted and long may that continue."
