Everton hero Graham Stuart is delighted seeing Jack Rodwell earn a call up to the England squad. Stuart, who made more than 150 appearances at Goodison Park between 1993 and 1997, believes Rodwell has the talent to establish himself as a regular in the England fold.

"It was a pleasant surprise to see Jack selected," said Stuart.

"He has steadily improved this season, and this is just reward for him. I'm delighted for him.

"Midfield has always been a stronghold for England. Now we have the likes of Jack Wilshere, Scott Parker and Gareth Barry competing, but for me it all comes down to how Jack reacts, and how he performs.
