Everton hero Ian Snodin is surprised to hear Jose Baxter is yet to find new club.
Regarded highly at Everton, the young attacking midfielder turned down a new contract offer over the summer.
Snodin wrote in the Liverpool Echo: "I've always held the lad in high regard, and he was good as gold whenever our paths crossed at Everton. So I'm pleased that Oldham have offered him a chance to impress.
"Jose could do a lot worse than follow the example of his friend James Wallace by getting his head down and playing in League One. He's already made the commendable decision that it's probably better to play for points than reserve football."
