Everton hero Ian Snodin is happy seeing Ross Barkley move on-loan to Sheffield Wednesday.

Snodin wrote in the Liverpool Echo: "I think Ross is an exceptional talent, but he does have a few flaws, a few rough edges which need smoothing out in his game. And Sheffield Wednesday will be a good place for him to learn some important lessons.

"Wednesday is a big club with a big following, and in Dave Jones he has a true Blue Evertonian as a manager.

"David Moyes will be hoping that a short spell playing in League One will allow him to bring back Ross as a much better, much wiser footballer, ready for the unforgiving environment of the Premier League."
