Everton hero Ian Snodin hopes they can hold onto Ross Barkley this summer.
Snodin is confident Barkley would never consider a move to Merseyside rivals Liverpool.
He told the Daily Star: "He didn't get as much game-time as he would have wanted at the World Cup but he looked bright and energetic. He will have his time.
"I don't think Liverpool would have much of a chance signing him. I don't think Ross would like to upset Evertonians and go across the park.
"If he's going to go anywhere, which he probably will do one day, he will go to one of the top clubs in Europe. And if he does happen to go in the next few seasons, he'll go for a lot of money.
"The only clubs in England with the money to get him would be Manchester City, United and Chelsea.
"But I'm not thinking about Ross Barkley leaving.
"He's got another few seasons at Everton first."
