Everton hero Ian Snodin is backing reserves coach Alan Stubbs for the top job.
Snodin wrote in the Liverpool Echo: "If Everton FC decide to find David Moyes' replacement from within the club there are few candidates as well positioned as Alan Stubbs.
"If you consider the compensation fees we may face to get a manager from another side, Stubbsy is a character who ticks a lot of boxes as far as I'm concerned.
"He is a massive, life-long Evertonian who had a fantastic playing career at some top clubs and has a wealth of knowledge about the game.
"Everyone has been impressed with the work he has done in progressing the U-21 set-up at Finch Farm and for that reason he could step into the senior set-up while perhaps Kevin Sheedy and Duncan Ferguson move into the U-21 frame to replace him."
