Everton hero Pat Nevin has welcomed their swoop for Gerard Deulofeu.
The former Barcelona winger re-signed for Everton this week.
“It's all about the percentages of your decisions being good and bad," Nevin told evertonfc.com. “Someone like Cristiano Ronaldo, look at him when he was young. He would do silly things – far too many step-overs and unnecessary stuff. It takes a while for you to iron those things out of your game.
“I know he [Deulofeu] is an intelligent player because he has got match awareness – that might seem a simple thing to say but not as many players have it as you may think. He's certainly got it – he's happy to draw two or three players towards him and then slip a pass through, which is why I make a comparison to Steven Pienaar. Pienaar is as good as you get in the modern game at doing that.
“Yes, he will make mistakes but it is up to him, the manager and the coaching staff to watch videos and clips of himself where he might make wrong decisions and learn about cutting them out."
