Everton hero Lee Carsley has welcomed the signing of Tom Cleverley.
Cleverley joins on a Bosman from Manchester United after spending last season on-loan with Aston Villa.
Carsley wrote in the Liverpool Echo: "Tom Cleverley showed that he's got a bit of character about him by taking the plunge to leave Manchester United and I believe that his transfer to Everton is potentially a good move for both parties.
"Tom will remember his time playing under Roberto Martinez during his loan spell at Wigan Athletic and it's obvious that the two of them enjoy a good working relationship.
"He can still be a top, top player and a lot of it comes down to confidence.
"When you're feeling wanted, things are going well and the manager is behind you then it gives you that extra 10%."
