Everton hero Carsley: Moyes will stay

Former Everton midfielder Lee Carsley believes manager David Moyes will stay.

Moyes has repeatedly stressed that he has no intention of quitting Everton, despite harbouring concerns over the club's ability to compete in the transfer market. The Scot admitted recently that he does not yet know what his budget will be this summer, and is eager to make at least three additions to his squad, especially in attacking areas.

Carsley, who made 198 appearances during six years at Goodison Park, told the Liverpool Daily Post: "I wouldn't see the benefit of him leaving Everton, which in my opinion is a bigger club.

"He's so well thought of at Everton that he'd perhaps find it hard to move to Villa.

"If you were talking about one of the top four clubs then maybe but I wouldn't see the benefit of him leaving Everton, which in my opinion is a bigger club."
