Everton boss Roberto Martinez feels he has a great blend of youthful exuberance and steely experience in his line-up.
The Toffees started Sunday's eventual 1-1 draw with Arsenal with a mixed eleven including veterans Tim Howard, Phil Jagielka, Sylvain Distin, Gareth Barry and Steven Pienaar alongside young guns like Ross Barkley, Romelu Lukaku, James McCarthy and Bryan Oviedo prompting Martinez to touch on just how important that combination is to a football side.
"It is vital to have that blend," he told Sky Sports.
"If you have eleven 19-year-olds you wouldn't be competitive. It is a perfect blend, you need to have a team that balances each other."
Everton sits fifth on the Premier League table with 28 points from 15 outings including seven wins, seven draws and just one loss.
