Everton have fresh start after summer window - Martinez

Roberto Martinez suggests he has given Everton a fresh start since his arrival.

The Toffees lost Marouane Fellaini to old boss David Moyes at Manchester United on deadline day but brought in Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea, Gareth Barry on loan from Manchester City and James McCarthy permanently from Wigan Athletic.

Ahead of Saturday's home meeting with Chelsea, Martinez feels there is a renewed vibe surrounding Goodison Park.

"When the window closed there was a different environment around the football club," he told reporters. "We feel it is a fresh start.

"For us, there is a feeling that the season starts now, we have done many good things in the previous games but now we need to pick up points and get our season started."
