After his hat-trick against AEK, Everton midfielder Steven Naismith hopes to start against Manchester United for their Premier League kickoff.

David Moyes was impressed and with a Premier League opener against United just over a week away, that was the main thing for the 25-year-old.

"My appetite has been there since the day I signed," he told evertontv afterwards.

"I am coming to play in the best league in the world and with me coming back from injury and playing again I have probably enjoyed pre-season more than most players might. Hopefully I can do enough to get in the starting XI."
